This role will primarily require the shunting of finished goods from production to the distribution centre along with loading and unloading of lorries and delivering loads between warehouses.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To unload all vehicles delivering to Waddington Europe safely and correctly
  • To ensure all deliveries to Waddington Europe are handled and that the necessary checks are carried out and the relevant paperwork is completed
  • To ensure all raw materials are stored in the warehouse in a safe manner
  • To ensure that production support is provided with the relevant/correct materials to run
  • To ensure work areas are kept clean and debris free
  • To shunt finished goods from end of production to the distribution centre (only if fully licensed to do so)
  • To liaise between Supervisors of what’s needed and where from
  • To ensure that all group hygiene and quality standards are met at all times
  • To take responsibility for their own health and safety and that of others that may be affected by their actions
  • To report any accidents or incidents of near misses as set out according to Company procedure
  • Not to interfere with / misuse or wilfully damage any property belonging to the Company or equipment issued to the employee
  • To report any defects or problems with property/ machinery to senior management as soon as they occur
  • To comply Company procedures and co-operate with management in carrying out their work safely and without risk to themselves or others
  • Comply with all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment is maintained.
  • Abide by the company’s environmental and quality management procedures.
  • Carry out any reasonable duties we request that are within your abilities, irrespective of grade/skill level.

Person Specification

  • Have a licence that covers driving a seven-tonne truck
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent attention of filling out and looking at paperwork
  • Good knowledge of computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Understanding of the Manufacturing industry and core processes.
