Sustainable Food Packaging

We’re serious about helping create a sustainable world that our children – and their children – can enjoy. We work each day to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. All our production sites are certified zero waste to landfill and we are powered by renewable electricity. We design for recycling using up to 100% rPET material blends and even Prevented Ocean Plastic (POP) rPET. That’s packaging with a purpose.

We actively work with suppliers, customers, and contractors to improve their environmental performance and source only from suppliers who meet our code of conduct.

Food Packaging in the Circular Economy

We design our sustainable food packaging products for recyclability and encourage the use of materials that promote circularity, as well as continually seeking to reduce the amount of material used in our products through lightweighting.

Our Eco Blend™ Pura and Eco Blend™ 100 product ranges are made with 100% recycled materials, as well as being fully recyclable, offering customers lower carbon packaging solutions at competitive prices.

Manufacturing Sustainability

Not only do we seek to reduce the amount of energy used in our manufacturing processes, but the electricity that powers our production sites is generated from renewable resources.

Zero Waste to Landfill

In 2020, we were proud to achieve Zero Waste to Landfill certification across all our three production sites.

We continually evaluate operations to minimise waste and ensure we are as efficient as possible. All staff receive waste training including plastic segregation in their induction when they first start and participate in ongoing refresher courses.

Any waste remaining after reducing, reusing, or recycling is sent to Waste to Energy plants for incineration and bioenergy production.

Memberships

We are proud and active members of a number of environmental trade associations including The UK Plastics Pact, Recoup, Repak, and Ocean Clean Sweep.

RecyCLASS

RecyCLASS guidelines are rules we follow when designing new food packaging products to help our customers make an informed choice about how their products will be treated at disposal. This cross-industry initiative aims to promote high-quality recycling and increase the uptake of recyclates in the market.
